Arcs-Helix Overlay, Hawthorne, NV 2012

 

This video shows the motions used to create the still photo shown.
Two sequential firings of aerial shells are captured on a still camera with the lens kept open.
The shells are custom built with cables anchoring them to the ground and themselves.
The result is a tightly orchestrated painting of light that exists only in memory and photographs.
